MANUEL DE LOS GALANES
Manuel de los Galanes was born in Madrid, Spain in 1970. Since his first exhibition at 17 years of age, the artist entered the art world acquiring an understanding of painting, drawing, and graphic design that has been incorporated into his photography.His journey in the art world, after his first 6 exhibitions between 1987 and 1996, was cut short by the sudden illness and later death of his parents, after which Manuel decided to separate himself from his personal work and dedicate his efforts to commercial photography.His commercial works were publicated in the New York Times, The Herald Tribune, Vanity Fair, Dominical, FHM, In Style, Marie Claire, Elle, Calendario Larios, Woman, Dominical El País, Dominical ABC, El Mundo, Arte fotográfico.Manuel revisited his artistic side with an exhibition entitled Antídoto (antidote) in 2007. Over the years he has unveiled more of his personal works in exhibitions (Theatre and La Casa Naranja) and participated in a group show with some of the most renowned photographers in Spain at the Museo del Traje in Madrid.Currently Manuel divides his time between his art and teaching at the EFTI Academy of Photography as a profesor in the international post-graduate program.
